Toddler Programme (TOD) – 2 to 3 years old

Toddler Programme is catered to children approximately 2 years to 3 years old. Before joining the program, children are expected to have some independence skills such as walking independently. Children attends a 2.5 hour class for 3 times a week facilitated by Special Education Teachers. Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy are incorporated in the classroom session. Therapists and teachers work hand-in-hand in assessing and planning of activities using the thematic approach and according to each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

In the Toddler Programme, more emphasis will be given to skills development such as early language, enhancement of motor skills, and social development all in an environment of fun and play. Children are encouraged and given the chance to do things independently such as self-feeding or carrying their own bag.

Children will be exposed to a sensory-rich environment and learning will be done through hands-on and play.

Students in the Toddler Programme will be provided with one-to-one and group sessions. Teachers are trained to create a fun-filled environment where singing, dancing, art and crafts, sensory play, story-telling, etc. are part of the routine. Makaton signs and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device are used during communication. Teachers also practices Hanen’s Approach to draw out communication from the children.
