“Fun in the Park” was the theme for the  KDSF-National Centre’s World Down Syndrome Day celebration this year. More than 140 individuals with Down Syndrome with their family members attended the event. This included the students from the KDSF-National Centre, past graduates, and any individual with Down Syndrome. They all came with their family and friends to have Fun at the Perdana Botanical Garden. This year KDSF-National Centre celebrated the World Down Syndrome Day on Sunday 20th March 2016 instead of 21st March as we wanted more to celebrate the event with us. In total we had more than 700 people at the event.

The students of the National Centre put up 2 performances, The Music Man and Limbo Rock. The crowd and staff from the OCBC Bank, who was the main sponsor of the event later join the students to do the Limbo Rock together.

A variety of activities were planned for all that were present. These included Art in the Park organized by the Parents Support Group and many artists were discovered on that day. Many children had a fun time jumping and climbing in the 3-in-1 inflatable, while some had their face painted or tried their skills at the carnival games. The Parents Support Group also prepared a lot of food for sale on that day. Some parents brought their own food and had a picnic with their family members.

The day ended with a skit and magic show by Cha Cha the Clown which got not only the children laughing in stitches but also all the adults. The event officially ended at 12.00 noon.
