Every year the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation – Johor Baru Centre celebrates World Down Syndrome Day with a Buddy Walk. Therefore the World Down Syndrome Day has triple meaning: Firstly, it is a celebration for the individuals with Down Syndrome, Secondly, it is a fundraising activity, and Thirdly,it is an awareness programme .

The day started with the Warm Up Exercise and then the 2km “Buddy Walk” with individuals with Down Syndrome began. A lucky draw was also held. Next was the Paper Aeroplane game. Participants who managed to land their paper aeroplanes on the stage, won prizes.
Like previous years, the Buddy Walk was a big success. In total more than 400 people attended the World Down Syndrome Day cum Buddy Walk.
