What Is Down Syndrome

Down Syndrome is the most prevalent chromosomal disorder due to the presence of an extra number 21 chromosome. It occurs once in every 660 births and is seen in all ethnic groups. The chance of a woman having a child with DS increases with her age at the time of conception.
